Jablan Lake is one of Durmitor's hidden gems — a serene glacial lake tucked among pine forests and alpine meadows. This short trail is the ideal way to experience the magic of Durmitor National Park without committing to a full-day hike.

The 8km route winds through some of the most scenic terrain on the plateau, gaining just 118 meters of elevation as you ascend from 1,736m to the lake at 1,854m. The relatively gentle gradient makes this trail accessible to hikers of all fitness levels, including families with children.

The Trail

Starting near Žabljak, the trail follows well-marked paths through fragrant conifer forests before opening onto sweeping alpine views. The lake itself is a stunning reward — crystal clear glacial water reflecting the sky and surrounding peaks.
