Durmitor Via Ferrata is located on the rock called Uvita Greda which is 10 minutes walking away from Sedlo — at the very heart of the National Park Durmitor.

The Experience

While climbing, you will enjoy picturesque limestone cliffs and unusual rock layers vertical and twisted in some places. From the top of Uvita Greda, a large number of peaks of Durmitor like Bobotov Kuk, Sljeme, Stozina can be seen.

A Bit of History

Via Ferrata was originally developed in the First World War for the needs of the troops in the Dolomites. Nowadays it represents a genuine tourist attraction since it is located in the most attractive areas. The iron path, as it is also called, is intended for everyone keen on rock climbing but lacking the previous mountaineering experience.

Note: In case of bad weather conditions, the tour can be delayed or canceled.

Do I need to have prior climbing expertise?

No, this is a fantastic method to bring together individuals with various abilities and enjoy a singular experience. While a certain level of physical fitness is necessary, it is not a requirement to be professional.

What do I need to bring and wear?

Prepare for all weather as the course will operate in all conditions (except in high winds and lightning). Bring sunscreen and waterproof clothing. All jewellery and scarves must be taken off, and long hair tied back. Gloves are required. Comfortable shoes are a must.

How safe is Via Ferrata?

All participants are issued with a safety harness and helmet and you will be fully harnessed in and attached to the Via Ferrata safety cable at ALL times. Therefore you cannot fall far (1 to 2m maximum). We have fully qualified and friendly instructors.

How long are the trips?

The duration of the tours are two to four hours. If you are a beginner try the 2-hour route. It's also possible to reserve private departures.

Can I cancel my booking?

We require 48 hours notice before departure to cancel or change a tour without penalty. Any cancellations or changes within 48 hours will not be rescheduled or refunded.
