Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to get through Nevidio Canyon?

The duration of the passage through the Nevidio Canyon is 2-3 hours, depending on the water level and fitness of the group.

Does the duration depend on group size?

In most cases group size does not impact the average time in the canyon, but fitness of the group. If there are more people in the group, more guides go with you, making the passing through efficient.

How many guides go with the group?

Main rule is to have one guide per 5-6 persons. For example, group of 15 would have 3 guides.

What is the height of the jump in the canyon?

The highest jump in Canyon Nevidio is 7-8m, but it can be easily shorten by alternative route, or totally avoided by rope decent.

Do you need to jump every jump?

Most jumps can be avoided (alternative path) or you can decent by a rope.

Is it necessary to be a swimmer?

It is recommended, but not mandatory. Life jackets are available - just let us know in advance.

Is it possible to return after giving up?

Return is possible only in the first fifth of the passage, before the first jump. After that, you'll need to go through to the end.

How many stops for rest do we make?

There is one short pause spot in the canyon. Longer stays aren't recommended because of the cold.

What are the age limits?

Lower limit is about 10 years (depending on the child). Upper limit does not essentially exist, as long as someone feels capable.

What should I bring?

A swimsuit is the only necessity. A towel waiting in the van for your return is recommended.

Is there a place to change clothes?

In Nevidio there are changing rooms at the starting point, in Grabovica and Tvrdan no.

Where can I leave personal belongings during canyoning?

Your belongings remain in the van parked near the canyon entrance. Waterproof bags are available for essentials.

How deep is Canyon Nevidio?

The deepest point of the canyon is 400m.

Can we go to Nevidio Canyon by ourselves?

Individual passing is not recommended - it could be extremely dangerous for people who do not know the canyon.

What if I don't have company and want to go?

The minimum number of people to organise a canyoning tour is three. During the season, tours run every day. Contact us and we'll add you to a group.

Is there a way to get me out if I get hurt?

Yes, there is The Mountain Rescue Service which operates in the area. Most of the guides are members of it.
